8.15.9.2013 Inari, Finland Finnish Pressphotographers Association organize Nordic Masterclass workshop in Inari with teachers Pieter Ten Hoopen and Aki Roukala in September 8th- 15th. ABOUT Masterclass is for photography professionals who want to deepen their skills in storytelling and/or portrait photography. Photographers can have art, editorial or documentary background. Workshop is also suitable for persons who are currently working or want to work on a book project. Masterclass follow a principle of slow working method. Focus will be on long term photography. Long term apply both to duration of projects and in the act of taking photos. Teaching will guide you to "get under the skin" and develop your understanding of subject matters thus creating more comprehensive and stunning images and stories. Masterclass has two experts: Pieter Ten Hoopen will focus on storytelling and the differences of a editorial and book projects. www.pietertenhoopen.com Aki Roukala is a portrait expert who is focused on teaching slow work method with your models. www.akiroukala.com All students will get one-on-one time with both teachers during workshop. Teachers will give you special personal guidance depending on your needs. Teaching will be held in English. Inari is a center of native Finnish people, Sami. It is a small but vibrant community with strong history of Sami people. Students who wish to focus their projects to original culture of Sami will be given assistance by organizer. Pieter ten Hoopen is an experienced and internationally acclaimed photographer based in Stockholm, Sweden. Transitioning between editorial work, personal projects and commercial assignments, ha has a wide range of returning customers as New York Times magazine, Le monde, Expressen, Dagens Naeringsliv. Pieter ten Hoopen is represented by Agence Vu in Paris, France. Aki Roukala is reputable Finnish freelance photographer specialized in portrait photography. He is based in Hailuoto, Finland. His work has been seen in almost all major national magazines. Currently he works on several exhibition projects focusing on portraiture. Tuition fee for members of Finnish Pressphotographers Association 1120€ Members can also apply for scholarship amount 420€ leaving 700€ as an excess share. Tuition fee for non-members 1250€ Tuition includes basic accommodation in Inari and breakfast and dinner (from Monday to Saturday). Please notice that we cannot guarantee single rooms.
